Senso Ristorante & Bar - Club Street, Singapore

May 16th 2007 02:15
I had the pleasure of lunching at Senso Ristorante & Bar, located within the elite places to be seen - Club Street. The area boasts a selection of great eats and fine wine & dining. Be pleasantly surprised by Senso's food quality and fitting yet affordable price range.

Established in 2000 on 21 Club Street , Senso Ristorante & Bar is well-known for its authentic Italian fine-dining cuisine. If you're looking for a date place, Senso would be a great choice. It is not too uppety and posh but enough to really impress the ladies. The extensive selection of wines are a great accompaniment to the menu selection.

I personally recommend the lunch sets, available on weekdays. For a mere price of S$34, for a 3 course lunch! Lunch sets available in the busy business district zone usually poses great promise but offers lacklustre quality and portions. With Senso, anticipate appropriate serving sizes, which will keep you adequately filled for the rest of the day.

Choose to dine in the main dining hall, where it is both cozy and classy at the same time. Or indulge yourself in the rustic charms of the courtyard. And if privacy is what you desire, there are two exclusive dining rooms at your disposal. The ambience eludes serenity, as it is a sympathetic conversion of a former convent. Retaining the neo-classical lines of colonial architecture, especially in the courtyard, whilst subtly updating the atmosphere to match the 21st century in a beautiful blend of form and function.

The intimate bar area tucked away at the entrance hallway of Senso would be a great place to start up the dining festivities, or to chill and wine down after a hearty Italian meal. Either ways, it's a snazzy place to kick back with friends and private enough to be personable.

Senso - Outdoor Courtyard

Reckon it'll be a great place to hold a wedding reception too! Right in the courtyard for the solemnisation ceremony and then great wine and food to follow through the night. Hmmm...

Ruby ...

A former convent? Italian food? They should have called it Il Papa's.

Boy, you can write. I don't know if I feel more like eating or getting married.
